B&B's Spectra family grows with addition of Courtney Grosbeck

The Bold and the Beautiful has cast Courtney Grosbeck as part of the new generation of Spectras.

The Bold and the Beautiful recently created quite a buzz with the announcement that the show's former fashion family, Spectra, would be rising from the ashes. But the CBS soap isn't stopping at casting Days of our Lives' alum Patrika Darbo in the role of Sally Spectra's sister, Shirley, and Courtney Hope in the role of Sally's grandniece, Sally. It turns out the new Sally is getting a sister, as well.

Soap Opera Digest reports Courtney Grosbeck has been cast as Coco Spectra, the younger Sally's teen sister who will be arriving on the canvas Friday, February 24.

As previously reported, the Spectra clan is set for a full reinvention: Alex Wyse, known for appearing in the Broadway production of Spring Awakening, has been cast as Saul's (Michael Fox) grandson, Saul. And Danube Hermosillo will play a new version of Darla (Schae Harrison) named Darlita.

"This will be Spectra, the next generation," executive producer and head writer Brad Bell said about what fans can expect from the cluster of quirky characters.

As for Grosbeck's experience, her previous credits include Parenthood and Modern Family.

What do you think about B&B further expanding the second generation of the Spectra family? Are you happy to see the soap exploring its past in this unique way, or would you rather see the writers come up with something new?
