Kelly Thiebaud is bringing Britt Westbourne back to General Hospital, and you can bet that some people in Port Charles will be thrilled -- while others will be seriously perturbed. But why such mixed reviews? Find out via our quick guide to the sassy villain, a.k.a. the Britch.

General Hospital is bringing Kelly Thiebaud back to the role of General Hospital’s Britt Westbourne, the love-to-hate villain who first came to Port Charles in 2012, and it’s not just fans who are excited -- the actress says she’s just as thrilled to be back filming her devilish role.

"Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer] reached out to me at the beginning of this year and mentioned that the writers wanted to bring me back for a bit. I said, 'Of course I will! I would love nothing more than that!'" Thiebaud reveals to Soap Opera Digest, adding that her GH fans are "a huge reason why I always enjoy going back.... Even if it’s just for a couple of episodes they always seem to really enjoy seeing that character and that makes it more fun and exciting for me."

The daytime world is super ecstatic about the upcoming return of Kelly Thiebaud in the role of General Hospital's Britt Westbourne, the love-to-hate villain who first came to Port Charles in 2012. Viewers can always bet on super scandalous drama playing out whenever she hits the screen, which means the weeks ahead are sure to be thrilling. But for those who don't know much about the scheming doc -- or for those who just need a quick refresher to get up to speed on her antics -- we've put together five fast facts about Britt that will make you an expert in the time it takes to say Britch Slap!

1. She's a doctor that specializes in trouble with a capital T

The moment Dr. Britt Westbourne started working at General Hospital, she proved that she doses out more trouble than medicine. Having developed a crush on fellow physician Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), Britt convinced nursing student Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) to babysit the doc's daughter so Britt could swoop in and try to win his heart. Her plan backfired, however, and Patrick started developing feelings for Sabrina, instead! In a rage of jealousy, Britt tried blackmailing Maxie (Kirsten Storms) into helping her ruin Sabrina's career. She backed down, however, when Frisco (Jack Wagner) intervened and made it clear that he wouldn't allow Britt to mess with his daughter.

2. She's the love child of bad guy Cesar Faison and evil doc Liesl Obrecht

Can you really blame Britt for being so britchy when her parents are two of the most deliciously devilish villains on the GH canvas? She learned from the best, as evidenced by what happened after Britt tried sabotaging Sabrina's career in her journey to win over Patrick. Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) didn't think her daughter was trying hard enough to eliminate the competition and reminded her of the whopper move she and Cesar (Anders Hove) had made -- removing Robin (Kimberly McCullough) from Patrick's life and making everyone believe she was dead! Inspired by her devious parents to go the extra mile, Britt impregnated herself with an embryo belonging to Dante (Domonic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) and used her mom's help to change the paternity test results so Patrick was named as the father! She was forced to reveal the truth, however, when Patrick tried suing for sole custody of the baby. Drats!

3. She's best buds with scheming Spencer

Throughout her ordeal of trying to win over Patrick, Britt actually found herself falling in love with her new friend Nikolas (Tyler Christopher). The pair eventually got engaged, having bonded over their shared experiences with unbalanced family members. But Nikolas kicked Britt to the curb when it was revealed that she had stolen Lulu's embryo (Lulu is his sister, after all). Ever the schemer, Britt teamed up with Nikolas' son, Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel), who purposefully ran away from home and promised to stay away for as long as it took for Britt to console his father. The plan worked, but only temporarily -- Britt was forced to confess that she had orchestrated Spencer's disappearance when her mother started using it as blackmail material. A furious Nikolas threatened to press charges, which forced Britt to leave town and live life on the run. However, she and Spencer remained close buds. In fact, she sneaked back into town and secretly visited the youngster after he sustained injuries in a fire, reminding him that they were alike because they were both fighters and went after what they wanted.

4. She's been given a snarky nickname for practically every day of the week

Why stop at the Britch when there are so many other fun names to call Britt Westbourne? That particular moniker came courtesy of Felix (Marc Samuel), who also dubbed the love-to-hate villain Dr. West Nile and Wicked Witch of the Westbourne. Meanwhile, Maxie calls her Dr. Evil, while Damian (Bradford Anderson) calls her the Bad Doctor. Anyone want to make guesses as to what her next snarky nickname might be?

5. She claims to be a changed woman... but is she?

Tired of living life on the run after the Nikolas/Spencer fiasco, Britt turned herself in and went to prison for her crimes in 2017. But in 2018, she agreed to help Finn (Michael Easton) and Anna (Finola Hughes) ensnare Liesl in exchange for her freedom. Britt agreed to pretend to be dying of Tiber Pox, which lured her mother back to Port Charles. Liesl was furious when she realized that Britt had betrayed her but softened her stance after reading a letter her daughter had left behind in which Britt explained that she was sorry for the trick but was on her way to a new life where she hoped to be good. The character hasn't been seen since, so it's anybody's guess as to whether or not Britt will stay true to her word. But considering her history -- it's probably better not to hold one's breath!
