Aidan went to visit Frankie at the hospital. Aidan brought beer for them to enjoy. As they were about to indulge, they heard Greenlee call out for help. They rushed into Jake's room and found Jake on the floor with Greenlee beside him. Frankie and Aidan helped Jake back into his bed. Jake quipped that he and Aidan needed "to stop meeting like this," otherwise people would start thinking that they were dating. Everyone laughed. Greenlee divulged that Jake was trying to leave. Frankie scolded Jake and affirmed that he was still sick. Jake protested that he was fine and asked for a beer. Frankie allowed Jake to have one beer. So, Jake, Greenlee, and Aidan had a drink together.

Aidan and Greenlee left Jake's room. Greenlee commented that Jake's eyes looked very sad. She did not want to see Aidan's eyes ever look that way. Aidan explained that war was a difficult thing to get over. He admitted that he once looked like Jake, but got better eventually. They kissed and discussed their wedding. She wanted to have their wedding in June, after Angie and Jesse's wedding. He agreed and asked how many children she wanted to have after they were married. She looked uncomfortable with the topic and did not want to talk about it. He affirmed that he knew she could not have children, but he still wanted to have a family. She remarked that they just got off an "emotional roller coaster," so she wanted to focus solely on the wedding.

Frankie asked Jake about his time in Africa because he felt that Jake was hiding something. Jake was reluctant to discuss his life in Africa. Frankie reminded Jake that he had been in Iraq and understood what it was like to be in a war. Frankie explained that when he returned from Iraq, he did not want to talk to his family about anything. Frankie went on that he lived in the woods to avoid his family. Jake confessed that it was hard to discuss Africa with his family because they would be horrified by what he encountered there. Jake told Frankie to picture a busy shopping mall in the United States. Jake then asked Frankie to imagine all of those people getting murdered for no reason. Jake said this situation was comparable to the killing that occurred in Africa. Jake affirmed that his job there was to fix those that survived. A tear fell down Jake's face and he looked embarrassed. Jake insisted that he needed to sleep. Before Frankie left, he confessed that although he tried to avoid his family, they were the ones that saved his life in the end. Jake fell asleep, but was awakened by a nightmare. He recalled a woman saying goodbye to him as guns went off.

Cassandra was at home, searching for her stuffed elephant, Mr. Trunks. Cassandra did not know that Robert was spying on her to see if she had the elephant. When Robert realized that she was looking for the same elephant that he was after, he made a phone call. Robert spoke with an unidentified person. Robert stated that the "trail was hot again" and urged the anonymous person to enact "plan B."

Angie wanted Cassandra's help on planning the wedding. Cassandra unenthusiastically gave her mother input on details, like table linens and dresses. Jesse watched the interaction between Angie and Cassandra. Then, Angie had to go to the hospital. Jesse told Cassandra that he wanted to talk. He asked why she was not excited for the wedding. He assumed that he was the reason for her feeble attitude. She stared at him with an annoyed look on her face.

Annie was very frustrated with Ryan and started to leave the stables. Suddenly, Ryan remembered making love to Annie. He announced that he recovered a memory, but she was skeptical. She stated that he lied before about remembering their relationship. He promised that he was telling the truth. She yelled, "Shut up!" This triggered another memory for Ryan of when Annie first said, "I love you." He gave her numerous details about his recovered memories and she knew that he was telling the truth. He inquired why she waited so long to say that she loved him. She explained that they were not "in sync" initially. He asked what changed her mind. She said that he was persistent, so she finally admitted her love. They looked into each other's eyes and started kissing. They proceeded to make love in the stables. Afterwards, she wondered if he remembered loving her yet. He said nothing, so she commented that it was probably too soon. She affirmed that she was happy that he finally remembered something about her and not Kendall or Greenlee.

Jack arrived at the prison. Jack gave his belongings to a guard as Kendall and Zach arrived. They were all surprised to see each other. Kendall and Zach gave their belongings to the guard as well. The guard requested that they all give her their cell phones. The guard explained that it was a new policy in the prison that visitors could not have phones in the jail. So, all three of them relinquished their phones. Zach and Kendall assumed that Jack was there to see Erica, but he was not. Jack explained that he was there to see Carmen, his new client.

Jack sat down to speak with Carmen. Carmen looked over at Erica, who was visiting with Zach and Kendall nearby. Jack announced that he might be able to get Carmen out on bail, but she had no reaction. He realized that she was distracted. She said that she did not want to speak about legal issues. Instead, Carmen wanted to discuss his relationship with Erica. He joked that Carmen might finish her sentence before he was done telling her about his life with Erica.

Erica asked Kendall and Zach how they were doing, without going into detail since Jack was close by. Erica and Zach claimed that everything was going well between them. They gave Erica Mother's Day cards from her grandsons. Erica was delighted to see the cards. Zach noted that their sons were his first priority and that nothing else mattered. He further stated that he was ready to move on. Kendall called Zach an amazing husband and Erica agreed. Erica admitted that she was very worried for their relationship. Kendall assured her mother that they were fine and that she would never underestimate Zach again.

Jack, Kendall, and Zach recovered their belongings from the guard. Kendall and Zach said goodbye to Jack and left. However, Kendall and Jack did not realize that their cell phones were accidentally switched. Erica, not knowing that Jack had Kendall's phone, called her daughter. Before Jack could say anything, Erica blurted into the phone that she was elated to learn that Zach got over her "night with Aidan" and that Greenlee never had to know. Erica immediately hung up and Jack looked stunned.

Greenlee visited Jake in the hospital. Jake asked Greenlee if she loved Aidan. Greenlee said she loved Aidan more than any other man she had ever known. Jake said he wanted to go back to Africa, but Greenlee encouraged Jake to listen to Angie's advice and rest. Greenlee asked Jake how his wife, Carolyn, was doing. Jake said he and Carolyn spilt up. Jake said he was not the same person that he used to be, mostly because of all the people he met in Africa. One woman, an 18-year-old woman with three children, was shot trying to protect himself and patients at the clinic they both worked for, Jake said. Jake asked Greenlee to help him bust out of the hospital and get back to Africa. Greenlee was not willing to help Jake, but left to get him some food. Jake tore off all the tubes connected to his body and hobbled out of bed. Greenlee called for help as Jake fell to the floor.

Ryan apologized to Annie for neglecting her while he helped rescue Aidan and Jake. Ryan took a blindfolded Annie to the barn they first made love in. When Annie took off the blindfold, the barn was filled with flowers to celebrate their anniversary. Ryan said he did not remember their anniversary, but saw the date marked in a photo album. When Ryan tried to make a toast to their anniversary, Annie said she was tired of pretending they had a real marriage. Annie said she saw Ryan having fun with Aidan, Greenlee, Kendall, and Zach the night they should have been celebrating an anniversary. Annie said she saw Greenlee crying on Ryan's shoulders instead of Aidan's. Annie said she was fed up with Ryan playing knight-in-shining-armor to Greenlee. As Annie tried to leave, Ryan grabbed her arm and he remembered making love to her at the barn.

Krystal visited Tad to see how he was doing, but Tad suspected Krystal had something on her mind. Krystal asked Tad if any new information had come out about Kate's whereabouts. Krystal offered to help with the search, but Tad said he preferred to search for Kate alone. Tad felt hopeful that he was finally close to finding Kate. When Tad found Kate, Krystal wondered what his next step would be in bringing her home. Krystal said Kate would have a life with another family so he should not try to disrupt her world. Tad said he did not want to think of Kate having another mommy or daddy. Tad said Kate had plenty of family in Pine Valley. Tad received a phone call with a lead for Kate's location.

Babe dropped Little Adam off with JR. JR said his father left him alone to handle a transaction. JR said he missed Dixie, but didn't know she was watching him in the same room with Babe. Babe asked JR how he felt about Richie drugging and setting him up with the prostitute. JR said he was angry, but had more important issues to deal with than getting revenge on Richie. Babe kissed JR goodbye and Dixie got to watch JR play with his son. As Dixie touched JR's hair, he got a shiver. Dixie played with Little Adam while JR talked on the telephone. After JR read Little Adam book, he and Dixie sang "You are My Sunshine" to Little Adam. Dixie asked God why she still felt love and pain if her life had already been taken. JR saw a stuffed giraffe on a chair in the living room. He looked around to see if his mother had moved the giraffe. Dixie reached out to JR but did not touch him again.

Richie gave Trina, the prostitute, money at The Comeback so she would not tell Babe what Richie had done to JR. Trina got hasty and wanted more money from Richie. Richie grabbed her arm and threatened to hurt Trina if she did not get out of town. Trina said Richie would never see her again and walked out the door past Babe. Babe confronted Richie about his relationship with Trina. Babe slapped Richie in the face and said she was done with him forever. Richie dared Babe to prove that he set JR up.

Tad thanked Aidan for saving Jake's life. Aidan asked Tad what case he was working on. Aidan was surprised to discover that Tad was looking for Kate again. Tad said Kate was adopted in New Mexico and he was searching through all the adoption agencies open for business five to six years earlier. Also, Tad said he was reading a series of articles that outlined shady adoptions and baby farms that were prevalent when Kate was born. Aidan offered to help Tad find Kate in any way possible. Aidan updated Tad on the wedding plans with Greenlee. He asked Tad to be the best man, and of course, Tad agreed. Aidan told Tad to contact the reporter who wrote the articles. Tad said he was already searching for the reporter, but a news article revealed the reporter died in a car accident.

Jesse tried to connect with Cassie to make Angie happy. Cassie said she did not think Jesse was a bad person, but had a hard time accepting he was going to become her stepfather. Jesse said he was not planning on taking the place of Cassie's father. Cassie agreed to try to be friends with Jesse. She said that it was strange for her to be in Pine Valley with so many nosy family members constantly questioning her every move. Jesse said family just wanted to keep Cassie safe. Jesse and Cassie discovered that they both used to feel like outsiders in their families. Cassie said Jesse was not so bad after all.

Robert took a needle out of a case for a hunt he was about to embark on. He spied on Jesse and Cassie from afar. After Jesse left the apartment, Robert knocked on the door to see Cassie.

Colby saw the stuffed elephant with Little Adam. She assumed he must have taken it from Cassie accidentally and offered to return it. Adam came into the room and was immediately bombarded with questions from JR. JR said he was picking up his father's slack to keep Chandler Enterprises running. When Adam saw Dixie sitting beside JR, he jumped out of his chair. JR asked if his father was well, but Adam said he was upset about missing a phone call. JR told Adam that he found the giraffe Dixie gave to him and wanted to know why Adam moved it. As Dixie taunted Adam, Adam told her to be quiet. JR mistakenly thought Adam was talking to him. Adam said Dixie was haunting him and was the person leaving items out in the house. JR did not believe Adam. Dixie suggested that Adam was jealous of JR's successes. After she vanished, JR told his father that the charade was over. Adam said he was not lying about Dixie's ghost. He called out to Dixie to reveal herself to Adam and Colby, but he only heard Dixie's laughter in the background. While Colby made a phone call, JR asked Adam to show him where Dixie was. Adam told JR to get "that bitch" out of his house. JR locked Adam inside the living room until doctors from a psychiatric center hauled Adam away.

Greenlee asked Kendall how Erica was holding up in prison. Kendall said her mother was doing well, but missed keeping an eye on her children. Greenlee told Kendall about Jake's eager plans to leave Pine Valley after he was released from the hospital. Kendall reminded Greenlee how involved Jack was in their lives with he was engaged to their former co-worker, Mia. Kendall tried to explain details about work, but Greenlee was not paying attention. Greenlee said that she and Aidan saw differently on having children in the future. Aidan wanted children, but Greenlee was not interested. Kendall said the maternal instincts would kick in, but Greenlee had doubts. Greenlee thought she was too selfish to be a mother. Kendall said that Greenlee might not want to have children because she would have to share Aidan. Greenlee thought Kendall was right. Kendall told Greenlee she should be honest with Aidan about the real reason for not wanting a baby.

Babe told Amanda that Richie set up JR to make it appear he was sleeping with a prostitute. Babe said she wanted to find a way to clear JR's name. Amanda asked Babe why it was so important for people to believe JR. Babe said she felt guilty for not believing JR, but Amanda thought Babe had other reasons for clearing JR's name. Babe said she worried JR would go after Richie himself if she did not handle the situation first. Babe dressed up like a hooker so she could befriend Trina to get the dirty details on Richie.

Once Angie left Jake's hospital room, Tad pointed out that his brother had been a different man since his return. Jake shrugged it off and chalked it up to having been kidnapped. He then said that he might want to stay guarded so that he could be left alone. Tad warned him against becoming a loner, but Jake ignored him. Instead, he asked how Tad's life had been. Tad told him that he'd become okay living without Dixie, but that not finding their daughter haunted him every day. He said that their daughter was proof he and Dixie existed, and that he deserved to have Kate in his life. They then tried to talk more about Jake's life but before he could get any substantial information, Jake shut down and turned his back on Tad.

Adam awoke with a start and was enraged to find that he had been delivered to Oak Haven. He raised his voice and demanded to no one in particular that he be released immediately. A nurse opened his door and explained that based on what he's said up to that point, his stay would be longer than he wanted. After she left, Adam ranted again about Dixie until she showed up on the other side of his door and tortured him. She found her way in and they argued as they had many times before about what-and who-was best for their son. When she'd had enough, she banned the topic, but Adam simply moved on and asked if she'd seen into Tad's room and how he acted with his current wife. Angered, Dixie gathered what powers she had and forced Adam into a chair with a pillow over his face.

Two orderlies rushed in and saved him from suffocation, but the nurse that followed said that she would talk to his psychiatrist about upping his medication. As they bustled out of the room, Adam made all sorts of noise about his refusal to become a drooling, medicated idiot. When he was locked in again, Dixie reappeared and he demanded that she help him get out. Dixie laughed at him until he said that he would help Tad find his daughter. Dixie demanded that he swear on everyone he loved, but he couldn't do it-so she abandoned him.

Jack pulled a few strings and gained admission to the jail and Erica after visiting hours. She asked if anything had happened, and Jack indicated that she held the answers. He then asked her what, if anything, went on between Kendall and Aidan. Erica tried her best maintain the secret that she held for her daughter, and told Jack that it was about a surprise bridal shower for Greenlee. She explained that Kendall and Aidan had worked late one night and Kendall hadn't called Zach to tell him that she would be late. Jack didn't exactly buy the story and told her that if the secret she held was something that would destroy his daughter, he needed to be informed.

Jack knew that his daughter's happiness was at stake and guessed that Kendall and Aidan had slept together. He demanded that Erica look him in the eye and tell him that he was wrong, but she couldn't. Erica quickly explained the circumstances, but Jack was at a loss as to what to do with the information. Erica told him to act as he'd always acted, and let his daughter plan her wedding. Jack said that he didn't want to be put in a situation where he had to lie, but Erica told him he had to think about two things-the truth or Greenlee's happiness-and decide which one was more important. Jack was still conflicted, and said that there was no guarantee that even if he agreed to keep his silence, Greenlee wouldn't find out.

Aidan arrived at Confusion and found that Greenlee had set up their dinner table with various gifts. She thought that she had managed to seem like her normal self, but Aidan quickly picked up on her agitation. Greenlee let go of the façade and told him that they needed to talk about kids and invited him to speak his mind first. He told her that he wanted to have kids, but thought that she dodged the topic before because he'd brought up the miscarriage she'd had. He told her that regardless of how it happened, he wanted them to have children. She then told him that she didn't want kids, and asked how he felt about that. She insisted that there were some women who are made for motherhood, and others who weren't-and said that she was in the second group. Aidan thought that she needed more time to figure things out or for her clock to start ticking, but Greenlee said that she had waited a while and it hadn't happened. She then offered him a chance to change his mind about getting married.

Upset at the suggestion, Aidan asked what had changed since the time where she was obsessed with having a child with Ryan. Greenlee explained that she didn't want a family with Ryan either-and that the lengths she went to were all to try to help him and save their marriage. Aidan then asked the question again with a slightly different spin-why was it that she was so willing to do whatever it took to make it work with Ryan, but with Aidan, she had no problem shutting the door in his face. Aidan decided to take some time to think, but before he left, Greenlee told him that she didn't want to lose him. After the door closed, Greenlee remarked out loud that she was sure she'd already lost him.

Ryan showed up at Fusion to pick up files for Annie. He ran into Kendall and told her that he remembered making love to Annie for the first time. Just as quickly as she pointed out that it was a good memory to have back, he flipped and said that she didn't need to be concerned with him or his problems. She reminded him that they were close friends and that she would always lend him an ear if he needed it. He filled her in about the date with Annie at the stables and confessed that his wife seemed to be headed back to the land where they were happily married. Kendall thought that he should be as excited about that as well, but clearly saw that it wasn't the case. He told her that although he could tell her everything about that day, he didn't remember being in love with her. He remarked that when the memories came back about Kendall and Greenlee, feelings rushed back in with them. With Annie, those feelings never came and he didn't know why they had gotten married.

Jesse stopped by the hospital and told Angie that he was somewhat concerned about Cassie. He reminded her that Cassie had lost something, and confessed to him that she thought he might have gone through her things. Angie chalked up her daughter's lost item to her lack of organizational skills and told her husband not to look for trouble where there was none to be found. Jesse told her that Papel never got what he wanted from him, and noted the possibility that someone could be carrying on Papel's legacy. Angie still resisted so Jesse restated his original concern about her daughter. Angie countermanded the statement and said that teenagers often created concern all on their own. They moved on and talked briefly about their wedding. He teased her some, but for the most part they agreed that they had all the luck they needed to have a wonderful wedding.

Robert invited himself into the Hubbard household, and completely ignored Cassie's obvious discomfort. He tried to ease her fears when he offered to share his drawings with her. Before they settled in, Cassie offered him a drink and when he agreed, she noted that she had to pull one out of her hiding place to share with him. She came out with two bottles moments later but before she could get glasses of ice, Robert injected her with an unknown drug and she fell unconscious. When she came to, she was chemically coerced into telling the truth. Robert asked her about the elephant and found that although she'd had it over the years, she'd lost track of it after the night they saw each other at the Comeback. Outraged, Robert pulled out a gun and demanded the location of the stuffed animal. He realized he was out of line and that she wasn't in any state to give him more information. He hypnotized her into a deep sleep and told her that when she woke up, she wouldn't remember anything about their visit.

As they walked into the living room, JR gave Barry some directives regarding his interim control of Chandler, and then sent him into the library to make some calls. Colby, having overheard their conversation, expressed her concern about their father's committal and when he'd be allowed to come home. Before they could delve into the subject, Stuart joined them and was surprised by an enthusiastic greeting from his niece. At that point, JR explained that Adam had been committed to Oak Haven. Stuart wasn't surprised and explained that Adam had tried to get him to believe that Dixie had returned from the afterlife. Stuart then spotted JR's childhood toy and thought that its presence made the possibility of a ghostly Dixie more likely. JR didn't back down from his belief that the toy was just another way Adam had chosen to torture his son. A short time later, with JR gone, Colby got ready to leave. Since she was running late, she asked Stuart to drop off Little Adam at Babe's and the stuffed elephant off at the Hubbards', and Stuart readily agreed. Annie spun her daughter around happily at home, and told Emma that her one-year anniversary with her daddy marked a new and happy beginning for their family. A short time later, a man showed up at her door and wanted to speak with Ryan regarding a personal matter. Annie got him to come in when she introduced herself as Ryan's wife, so the man told her that it had come to light that Ryan's vasectomy in 2004 was never performed, and that a class action suit was in the works. Annie was stunned to hear this, and to find out that Ryan could still have children.

Tad looked at his resting brother for a moment before leaving. He ran into Colby in the hall and she filled him in about Adam's commitment.

Adam muttered about not needing Dixie's help to get out, and was perturbed when he was interrupted once again by the nurse. She told him that he had a visitor, and Adam was surprised when he turned around and saw Tad in the doorway.

Across town, Dixie stopped by the hospital. She didn't want to wake the sleeping Jake, so she simply leaned over and whispered that he needed to stay in Pine Valley or he might never see his brother again.

After Cassie fell asleep, Robert heard a knock at the door. Stuart knocked a few more times, and inside Robert fretted over what his next move should be.

Annie ran over to Fusion, excited to tell Ryan the news about his vasectomy. When she got to the office, she overheard a conversation between Kendall and her husband about the possibility that he may have never loved Annie in the first place.
