Frankie and Randi were in a playful mood as they chased each other around the apartment. They were kissing when someone knocked at the door. It was Angie; she was in full wedding mode.

Angie announced that she had booked ConFusion for the reception, the following week. Randi seemed pleasantly surprised by the news, but Frankie was disgruntled. He was hesitant to have a big wedding. Angie insisted that every girl dreamed of a wedding with church bells and bouquets.

Angie and Randi shooed Frankie out of the apartment before they sat down to go over the wedding plans. Randi put on her wedding gown to show Angie how it looked. The dress was simple and elegant; Angie was impressed by Randi's selection. Unfortunately, the dress needed to be hemmed. Angie noticed that Randi had grown quiet.

Randi admitted that she had always envied girls who had close relationships with their mothers; Randi never have one with her own mother. Angie was deeply moved by the confession. Angie offered to be Randi's mother if she needed one. Randi welled up with tears as she embraced Angie.

When Angie took another look at the gown, Randi revealed that she had no idea how to sew. Randi did not have a sewing kit in the house. Angie smiled as she volunteered to go to the store to purchase the necessary items to alter the wedding gown. Angie also offered to buy a wedding veil for the dress.

Frankie walked into a hospital room, to check on a patient, only to discover that the patient wasn't there. However, Brot was in the room mopping the floor. Frankie realized he was on the wrong floor when he glanced down at the patient's file. Brot laughed at Frankie's mistake. Frankie admitted that he was flummoxed because Randi and his mother were busy planning a big wedding.

Brot was surprised to hear that Frankie was getting married. Frankie beamed with joy as he confirmed that he was engaged to Randi. Brot was happy for his friend. Frankie thanked Brot for his advice, which led to Frankie working things out with Randi. He asked Brot to be his best man. Brot was honored to accept the offer.

Later, Frankie ran into Jesse. Frankie admitted that he was worried that Randi would be swept up in Angie's wedding plans. Jesse explained that weddings were Angie's passion. Jesse promised to talk to Angie. He urged Frankie to focus on doing what was right for him and Randi.

Randi wandered around in her apartment, dressed in her wedding gown, while she waited for Angie to return. Frankie burst into the apartment while Randi pretended she was walking down the aisle. Randi tried to duck behind the couch so that Frankie wouldn't see in the wedding dress. Frankie tried to appease Randi by closing his eyes, but then he threw Randi over his shoulder. Randi shrieked as Frankie carried her out of the apartment.

Angie returned to an empty apartment. Jesse entered while Angie walked around calling out for Randi. Angie asked him where Randi was. Jesse replied, "The kids ran for their lives."

Frankie and Randi stood before a justice of the peace. Randi wanted to know if he could marry her and Frankie right away.

At the police station, David was anxious to learn if Erica had revealed where Adam had taken Little A. He ordered Jay, his attorney, to join Erica's interrogation. Jay explained that he wasn't authorized to question police suspects. Annoyed, David took matters into his own hands; he stormed into Jesse's office.

Jesse didn't appreciate David's antics; he ordered David out of the room. David refused to comply. Erica maintained that she had no idea were Adam and Little A were. David and Krystal didn't believe Erica. Jesse threw the Haywards out of his office. After David and Krystal were gone, Erica turned to Jackson. She told Jack that she wanted to have a private word with Jesse. Jack advised against it, but Erica ignored the warning.

When Erica and Jesse were alone, Erica talked about Jesse's past. She reminded Jesse that Angie's father, Les Baxter, had tried to arrange for Frankie to be adopted because he had believed that Jesse and Angie weren't fit to be parents. Jesse didn't see the point of Erica's stroll down Memory Lane. Erica explained that David was every bit as toxic as Les Baxter had been.

Jack was waiting for Erica when she left Jesse's office. He didn't try to mask his irritation. Jack suggested that the next time Erica was in trouble, she call someone else. Erica could do little more than watch Jack walk away.

Erica pulled JR aside. She asked him if he knew what the significance of the day was. JR said that it was Little A's birthday. Erica reminded JR that it was also Miranda's birthday. She told JR that she couldn't celebrate the day with Miranda, but there was no reason for JR to be away from his son. Erica slipped a piece of paper into JR's hand. JR looked down at the paper then thanked Erica.

Krystal stepped from behind a corner moments after Erica and JR walked away.

Jesse pulled David into his office. He warned David to keep his distance from Erica. David was furious because Jesse was protecting Erica. In retaliation, David snidely brought up Frankie's recent ethical violations at the hospital. Jesse threw David up against the wall; Jesse didn't appreciate being threatened.

Later, David was handcuffed to a desk in the police station. Krystal didn't understand why David had been detained. Jesse reminded Krystal and Jay that David was under investigation for putting JR in the hospital. Jesse offered to have David formally charged then transferred to a holding cell. After Jesse walked away, David ordered Jay to call Judge Salke so that he could arrange for David's release.

Krystal told David that she had seen Erica slip JR a note. David was certain that Erica had arranged for JR to visit Little A.

At the hospital, Reese was thrilled when she learned that her vision would return to normal within a few days. Zach offered to secure Reese a room at the hotel, but she declined the offer. Reese told Zach that she would stop leaning on him; it was time for Reese to stand on her own two feet. Reese believed that it was the best way for her to win Bianca back. Reese suggested that Zach stop using the excuse of helping Reese to hide from his problems with Kendall.

Kendall walked into Fusion to find Ryan working. She opened up to Ryan about her talk with Erica the night before, but she sensed that Ryan wasn't listening. Ryan admitted that he had no idea where he stood with Kendall. Kendall told Ryan that she loved him; he was the father of her child. Ryan wanted to know if Kendall felt more than friendship for him, but Kendall shied away from answering. Ryan told Kendall that she needed to figure out what she wanted; he promised to honor whatever decision she made.

Later, Kendall felt stifled in the office. She told Ryan that she needed to step out for some fresh air. Kendall made it as far as the elevator. When the doors slid open, Reese stepped off of the elevator. Kendall immediately realized that Reese's vision had returned. Reese explained that she wanted to talk about Zach.

Reese assured Kendall that she and Zach were merely friends; Reese reminded Kendall that she was a lesbian. Kendall pointed out that Reese's homosexuality had not stopped Reese from "sucking Zach's face." Reese ignored the taunt. She told Kendall that she hoped Kendall could find it in her to forgive Zach. Reese said that she planned to do whatever it took to save her marriage to Bianca. Reese suggested that Kendall consider doing the same. Kendall made it clear that she didn't appreciate the advice.

Reese bumped into Erica as Erica arrived at Fusion. Erica didn't hide her disdain for Reese. Reese refused to back down from Erica; she vowed that one day Reese would be Erica's daughter in-law. Reese explained that she was no longer burdened by the shame that Reese's mother had made her feel. Erica hoped that was true, but she didn't see how it would help Reese regain Bianca's trust.

As Reese walked away, Kendall blamed Reese for "tanking" her marriage to Zach. Erica told Kendall that Reese had nothing to do with Kendall's failed marriage. Erica pointed out that Kendall would be with Zach if that were what Kendall truly wanted. Ryan tried to point out all of Zach's faults, but Erica stopped him. She reminded Ryan that Kendall's marriage did not concern him. Ryan stormed off. Erica stopped Kendall from following Ryan.

At the casino, Zach looked at a picture of Myrtle. Meanwhile a past conversation with Myrtle played in his head. During the heart-to-heart talk, Myrtle reminded Zach that he was in charge of his own destiny. Myrtle reassured Zach that he could never hurt Kendall because it was something that he consciously chose not to do.

A short time later, Aidan arrived at the casino. Zach revealed that he knew Ryan and Kendall had shared a room during their stay in Connecticut. Zach wanted to know why Aidan had kept it from Zach. Zach also wondered why Aidan would protect Ryan.

Aidan insisted that he had kept quiet to protect Kendall, not Ryan. Aidan claimed that what happened between Ryan and Kendall behind closed doors was none of his business. Zach disagreed; Aidan had been hired to keep an eye on Ryan. Aidan clarified that he had only agreed to spy on Ryan's business interests, not Ryan's personal life.

JR went to an undisclosed location. After an unknown woman welcomed JR inside, Little A came running out of a back room. Little A was delighted to see his father. Later, Erica arrived. JR asked her where Adam was. Erica admitted that she had bad news for JR.

David was released from custody. He demanded that abuse charges be filed against Jesse. Judge Salke warned David not to get carried away; David's position was weak. David asked to speak privately with the judge. David threatened to reveal that Judge Salke was addicted to cocaine, which led to an accidental overdose. Had it not been for David, a world-renowned surgeon, the judge would have died. David agreed to keep the damaging secret out of the tabloids in exchange for Judge Salke's cooperation. David wanted the judge to arrange for kidnapping charges to be filed against Adam and JR.

Ryan went to the casino to talk to Aidan. Ryan told Aidan that he was ready to go up against Zach. Ryan wanted to put everything on the line, winner take all.

Kendall's thoughts were centered on her earlier conversations, with Reese and Erica, about Zach. She was surprised when she looked up to see Zach walk into Fusion. Kendall smiled as Zach approached. She told him that she had been tempted to call him the night before; she was glad that he had stopped by Fusion. At that moment a rustling noise drew Kendall's attention to Zach's hands. She realized that he held an envelope. When Kendall asked about the envelope, she was stunned to learn that it contained a petition for divorce.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Zach gave Kendall divorce papers. She was shocked, and pleaded with Zach to give their marriage another chance, especially for their sons. Zach stated that their marriage was over because Kendall loved Ryan. Zach felt that, although Kendall loved him, she never stopped loving Ryan. She commented that Zach lusted after Reese. Zach noted that their marriage was in trouble long before Reese came to town.

Kendall swore that Ryan was just a friend, but Zach disagreed. Zach stated that she never let Ryan go, which was why she constantly needed to control Ryan's love life. She reminded Zach that she pushed Ryan and Greenlee together. Zach was glad that Greenlee was not there to witness Kendall's behavior. He thought it was repulsive that Kendall and Ryan went straight from the morgue to the bedroom. Still, Kendall begged Zach for a second chance. He stated that it was time for him to let go, and he left.

David demanded that the judge issue a warrant for Adam and JR's arrest. The judge noted that Adam and JR did not do anything illegal. David threatened to tell everyone that the judge was addicted to cocaine, if the judge did not issue the warrant. The judge agreed to David's demands.

David informed Krystal that Adam and JR would be arrested for kidnapping. David then revealed that he had a hunch Little Adam was closer than they thought. David assumed that Adam kept Little Adam in the area, so JR could see his son on Little Adam's birthday. Krystal was sad because she was not with Little Adam on his first birthday without his mother. David swore that they would get custody of their grandson.

Amanda went to the hospital because she had an appointment to get a sonogram. Jake told Amanda that she would be able to see the baby's fingers and toes. He asked her if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. She said that she did not want to look at the sonogram because it might make her feel connected to the baby. She was intent on giving the baby up for adoption and did not want to know anything about her unborn child. Jake reminded her that David promised not to take her child. She feared that David would change his mind, so she wanted to protect the child by giving it up.

The doctor came to administer Amanda's sonogram. Amanda stated that she did not wish to see anything. David entered the room and wondered why she would want to miss such a significant moment. David looked at the sonogram and then placed a picture of it on Amanda's lap. She looked disgusted by David's presence.

An envelope was delivered to the hospital for Jake. The envelope read, "Confidential." An unidentified person picked up the envelope.

Ryan and Aidan were at the casino. Ryan told Aidan to give Zach a message. Ryan affirmed that he was coming after Zach and planned to take everything from him.

Ryan was annoyed to see Aidan at the hospital. Ryan was accusing Aidan of following him when Jack announced that he invited Aidan. Jack thought that both Ryan and Aidan should be present when the results of Greenlee's DNA test were read.

Jake could not find the envelope that contained the results of Greenlee's test. A nurse found the envelope and gave it to Jake. Jake informed Jack, Ryan, and Aidan that the body found in the river matched Greenlee's DNA. All three men were disappointed by the news. Jack urged Aidan and Ryan to stop fighting, but neither wanted to make peace.

Aidan informed Zach that Ryan was relentless in his pursuit of revenge. Zach did not seem worried about Ryan's threats. Zach said that he was ready to fight Ryan.

Ryan went home and found Kendall waiting for him. He told her that the DNA results confirmed that Greenlee was dead. Kendall explained that Zach asked for a divorce because he thought that she had feelings for Ryan. Ryan went crazy and screamed that Zach was to blame for ruining their lives. Ryan vowed to make Zach pay. Kendall consoled Ryan and they kissed.

Zach went home to see his sons. The nanny asked Zach if he could watch the boys. Zach agreed to stay until Kendall returned home. The nanny informed him that Kendall was not returning home. Zach looked sad as he sat with Spike. Zach told the boy that he would always be Spike's father.

Erica informed JR that Adam was ill. She explained that Adam collapsed and was in the hospital. JR wanted to see his father, but Erica thought that was too dangerous. She urged JR to stay with his son and she promised to take care of Adam. JR noted that Erica must love Adam. She called JR delusional, like his father. JR stated that he was going to take Little Adam out of the country. JR told Erica to tell Adam that he loved him. JR then called Colby and asked her to get his passport ready.

Krystal received a call from JR's cell phone. She was shocked to hear Little Adam's voice. The boy explained that he was going on a trip with his father. She asked the boy where he was.

Krystal busted into the mansion. Colby told Krystal to leave, but she refused. Krystal revealed that Little Adam had called her and said that he was in the mansion. Colby denied that, but Krystal noticed JR lurking on the patio. Krystal went to chase after JR, so Colby hit her over the head with a vase.

JR put Little Adam in the car and they headed to the airport. Suddenly, a police car pulled up behind them. JR looked nervous.

Randi and Frankie asked a minister to marry them. The minister said he could not because they did not have a witness. Then, Angie and Jesse arrived and offered to be the witnesses. Randi and Frankie were pleasantly surprised to see them. Angie revealed that Natalia, Taylor, and Brot were planning to attend, also. Frankie apologized to his mother for not having a big wedding. Angie understood, because she and Jesse secretly eloped when they got married.

Brot was excited to be Frankie's best man. Frankie commented that he wanted to return the favor one day. Brot smiled as he looked at Taylor.

Angie, Natalia, and Taylor helped Randi get ready for the ceremony. Randi wanted to spend the rest of her life with Frankie; however, she noted that, if he did not return from Iraq, she would be satisfied knowing that they were married.

Jesse noticed that Natalia looked upset. She admitted that the wedding made her think about her mother. She was distraught because her mother would not be at her wedding. Jesse promised to be by Natalia's side on her wedding day. He also noted that her mother would be there in spirit.

Randi and Frankie exchanged vows and professed their undying love for each other. The minister told Frankie to put a wedding ring on Randi's finger. Frankie laughed as he realized that he did not have a ring. Angie gave him her wedding ring. Angie said that it was Jesse's mother's ring and she always planned to pass it on to Frankie. Then, Angie called Randi her daughter and kissed her. Randi and Frankie were pronounced husband and wife, and they kissed.

Kendall woke up next to Ryan. She noted that her sons were probably wondering where she was; however, she did not want to go home because her house no longer felt like a home, since her marriage ended. Ryan looked distraught as he announced that his affair with Kendall was over. He felt guilty for sleeping with Greenlee's best friend.

Kendall told Ryan that he should not feel bad because they were comforting each other. He stated that he was still in love with Greenlee and told Kendall to leave. Kendall looked confused as she left Ryan's house.

Erica was pleasantly surprised to see Zach at his house. Erica assumed that Zach moved back into the home and worked things out with Kendall. Zach informed Erica that he had asked Kendall for a divorce. He further stated that he was at the house because Kendall was out all night. Erica looked disappointed. She urged him to fight for his marriage.

Erica feared that Zach pushed Kendall away because he thought he was unworthy of happiness. She reminded him that he was nothing like his evil father and brother, so he deserved a good life. He explained that his marriage was over because Kendall never stopped loving Ryan. Erica said that Kendall cared for Ryan because they shared a child. Zach was certain that Kendall was in love with Ryan.

Zach was about to leave when Kendall arrived home. Kendall saw both Zach and Erica and snidely asked if they were there for an intervention. Zach chastised Kendall for leaving their sons, so she could be with Ryan. Kendall told Zach that her personal life was none of his business. They began to fight.

Erica pleaded with Zach and Kendall to stop arguing. She reminded them that they loved each other. Zach affirmed that the relationship was over because Kendall slept with Ryan. Zach exited the room to say goodbye to his sons. Erica encouraged Kendall to speak with Zach before he left for good.

Zach started to leave the house and Kendall asked him to wait. She looked at him longingly, but admitted that she did not know what to say anymore. He sadly noted that there was nothing left to say, and he left.

Erica told Kendall that she needed to choose between Zach and Ryan. Kendall confessed that she loved both men. Kendall considered spending time alone. Erica did not think that Kendall was capable of being alone. Erica knew that Kendall would try to be alone, but would end up calling one of the men when she got lonely. Erica wondered whom Kendall would call.

Kendall sat alone in her living room. She recalled happy times she shared with both Zach and Ryan. Kendall picked up her phone.

Emma's babysitter brought her home from a sleepover. Ryan was excited to see his daughter. He proposed that they play hooky, so they could spend the whole day together.

Jack called Ryan because he wished to see him. Ryan explained that he had plans with Emma. Jack said that it was important, so Ryan went to the hospital. Jack had an urn in his hands. Jack revealed that he was scattering Greenlee's ashes along the beach and asked Ryan if he would come. Ryan said no because he already said goodbye to Greenlee. Ryan felt that Greenlee would want her father to scatter her ashes.

Opal went to the hospital because she was having trouble sleeping. Opal continued to have nightmares about Greenlee's soul being cold and alone. She ran into Jack when she was there and noticed the urn. She hoped that Greenlee would get peace once she was laid to rest.

Opal accompanied Jack to the beach. Jack remembered when he found out that he was Greenlee's father. He recalled connecting with Greenlee when they were on the beach. He told Greenlee that he loved her as he scattered her ashes.

Zach went to Ryan's house. He was surprised to see that Emma was home from school. The babysitter explained that she was playing hooky, and just at that moment, Ryan returned home. Ryan gave Emma a surprise, a kitten. Emma thought the kitten was her cat, Mittens, that had recently died. Ryan explained that it was a new cat. Emma wondered why Greenlee and Mittens could not return from heaven. Ryan looked upset as he stated that Greenlee became an angel. Ryan had the babysitter take Emma to visit a friend.

Ryan asked Zach, "Why the hell are you in my house?" Zach replied that he got Ryan's message. Zach said that he was ready to face Ryan.

Colby and JR were both arrested. Colby was worried that she would go to jail because she hit Krystal over the head with a vase. JR promised his sister that their lawyer would get her off. Then, Jesse entered the room and announced that Colby was free to go, since Krystal did not press charges.

Jesse questioned JR about Adam's whereabouts. JR revealed that Adam was in a hospital, but he did not divulge the hospital's location. JR asked for his phone call, and called Adam. JR informed Adam that he was arrested and Little Adam was put in a foster home. JR was very worried when Adam sounded distressed on the phone.

David demanded to know where Little Adam was being held. Jesse revealed that Little Adam was placed in a foster home, while the custody battle was decided. David chastised Jesse for being a terrible cop. Jesse grabbed David by the neck and warned him to stop meddling in police business.

Krystal was in the hospital due to her head injury. Angie checked on Krystal, and Krystal said she felt fine. Krystal asked if Angie knew where David was, and Angie said no. Tad overheard the exchange, and wondered if the honeymoon was over for David and Krystal. Tad thought that David should be by his wife's side when she was in the hospital. Krystal wondered why Tad cared. Tad said that he wanted to save Krystal's life, for Jenny's sake.

Tad told Angie that he thought something was wrong with Krystal. Angie assumed that Babe's death was too much for Krystal to handle. Tad thought there was more to the story.

David visited Krystal in the hospital. She asked why he did not arrive sooner. He explained that he spent the night at the police station to make sure that JR did not get off on a technicality. David then informed Krystal that Little Adam was in a foster home, which saddened her. David promised that they would get custody of their grandson.

Angie told Jesse that she was worried because David was uncontrollable. She also felt bad that Little Adam was stuck in the middle of the custody battle. Jesse assured her that Little Adam was placed with a good foster family. She asked who the family was and he revealed that Little Adam was staying with them!

Thursday, March 26, 2009

JR and Adam were disconnected on the phone. JR saw Erica enter the police station. Erica offered to pay JR's bail, but Jesse said JR had no bail because the judge worried that JR was a flight risk. Jesse agreed to let Erica talk to JR.

JR said that he told Adam he was on his way to the airport when the police arrested him and took Little Adam into custody. JR said the temporary custody hearing was the following day. Erica thought it was too convenient for David to have the hearing so soon. Erica told JR she was going to help JR and she left.

Little Adam was not happy to be at Angie's house. He asked for JR, but Angie said JR was not able to be with him. Little Adam ran into Natalia's arms as she opened the door. Natalia brought Little Adam inside and convinced him to stick around for some pie.

Angie told Natalia about JR's situation. She said that no one knew Little Adam was staying with them. Natalia promised not to tell anyone that Little Adam was with them. She and Little Adam played with Frankie's old train set.

Frankie and Randi stopped by Angie and Jesse's house. Frankie was immediately smitten when he saw the train set. He decided to play with Little Adam and Natalia. Randi and Frankie talked about their mishap at the airport. Frankie apologized to Randi for their honeymoon being canceled, but Randi said she was happy just to be with Frankie.

David seemed to be a in a hurry to get Krystal home. Jake told David that Krystal was not going home yet. Jake said patients with head trauma injuries usually stayed in the hospital longer. Jake said that Krystal was Angie's patient, not David's.

David did not care what Jake thought. He told Jake to sign Krystal's release papers. Krystal told David she felt a bit woozy, but he insisted she would be fine. Colby came to the hospital and apologized to Krystal for attacking her. Colby begged Krystal not to go after custody of Little Adam, but Krystal said that a judge needed to decide Little Adam's fate.

Erica went to the hospital to find David and Krystal. Jake told Erica they had left, but had heard David tell Krystal they were going to the courthouse. Krystal and David met with the judge after hours. The judge agreed to rule in David's favor. If the judge let David down, David threatened to expose the judge's drug history.

Krystal asked David why he was not fighting fairly for Little Adam. David said he was doing what needed to be done for their grandson. The judge told Krystal that she would be asked a series of questions to show her good mothering skills. Krystal said she had promised Babe she would look after Little Adam.

Krystal and David left the courthouse. Erica came in to try to win the judge over with her charm. She asked the judge to release JR so he could be well rested and look presentable for the hearing. The judge said it would not be appropriate for him to release JR. Erica said she saw David and Krystal leave the judge's chambers, which was considered illegal. Erica asked the judge to walk away from the case so a fair and impartial judge could conduct the hearing. The judge called Jesse and told him to release JR.

Ryan ignored his ringing cell phone. Zach asked Ryan if bedding Kendall was part of Ryan's plan to get revenge on Zach. Ryan said he was not using Kendall to even the score with Zach. Ryan looked at his watch. He said that he had orchestrated a takeover of Cambias Industries.

Zach said that Ryan's revenge against him was not going to bring Greenlee back. Ryan said that Zach never took responsibility for his mistakes, including killing Greenlee. Zach said he would never admit to killing Greenlee because her death was an accident. Also, Zach said Greenlee was a friend to him. Ryan said Zach needed to get all of his belongings out of Cambias Industries. Zach said Greenlee would be embarrassed over Kendall and Ryan's behavior.

Aidan came into the casino to see Zach. Zach punched him in the face. Zach said Ryan stole Cambias, and the deal to protect Annie was off. The employees told Zach that if he left, they wanted to leave, too. Zach insisted the employees stay on board. He took Myrtle's picture and his autographed Red Wing jersey before leaving the casino.

Jesse went to the police station to give JR the good news. Jesse said he could not tell where Little Adam was being kept, but promised that Little Adam was in good hands.

Kendall left a message on Ryan's phone. She told him that it was impossible to let him go. Kendall said that she loved Zach, but was not sure if she wanted to save her marriage. Kendall said she was leaving town with the boys for a while to clear her head. But Kendall said that if Ryan wanted to be with her, he needed to come see her before she left town.

Kendall asked the nanny to help her pack for the trip. She remembered some happy times she and Zach had shared together with Spike and Ian. Kendall put a few pictures of the boys in her purse. As she got ready to leave, Ryan showed up.

David ordered as many toys as possible to prepare for Little Adam's arrival. Krystal told David that it made her feel better to see David so happy. David said he was the happiest he had been since Babe died.

Erica stopped by David's home to share the news about Little Adam's temporary custody hearing. Erica said JR was released from jail, but the judge has been replaced. Erica said she was looking out for Adam's welfare. David said Erica had no right to interfere. Erica said she wanted to make sure JR got a fair fight.

Friday, March 27, 2009

JR worried about a poor showing in the courtroom, but Colby and Tad stated otherwise. They told JR that he would walk away with custody of his son, but JR noted that a win for him would happen only if David didn't pull any of his dirty tricks. Erica walked in at that moment and guaranteed that there would be a fair and impartial hearing. Then, before JR headed off to the courthouse, she passed along Adam's message that he was confident his son would win.

David told Krystal that he was worried that things wouldn't go their way at the hearing, but Krystal told him that despite his attempts at manipulation, the facts regarding the dangers at the Chandler house remained the same. David wondered aloud why he always played dirty when he wanted something. She told him that no one in town had earned the right to cast the first stone, and listed several examples of her own wrongdoings. She then said that she was confident that the judge would see that they were the right family for their grandson. David admitted that he knew what to do -- trust the facts.

Zach greeted the day and informed Myrtle's picture that he'd lost his family and his company. Meanwhile, across town, after she retrieved the morning paper, Kendall winced as Ryan came up behind her and delivered a kiss to her neck. She turned to him after she read the headlines and asked if he was responsible for the hostile takeover of Cambias Industries. With barely a missed beat, Ryan confessed to the deed, and she asked why he didn't tell her.

Ryan insisted that what he did was above board, but Kendall was aggravated because Ryan had taken everything that Zach had worked so hard for. Ryan told her that Zach hadn't fallen to his knees in despair when he found out, but Kendall said that it wasn't in Zach's nature to let others in on his pain.

Ryan told Kendall that if she was so worried about Zach, she should go to him, but Kendall was unsure of what to do with regard to her feelings for both men. Ryan told her that he had passed the test of the voicemail she left, so she needed to make a decision about whom she wanted to be with. Kendall told Ryan that her choice was irrelevant, as Zach had ultimate control. She revealed that Zach could never be completely happy, and because of Ryan's actions, Zach got exactly what he wanted -- to be miserable.

Kendall then finally admitted that she wanted a life with Ryan where he loved her and comforted her when needed. She said that for the first time in a while, she had hope. Ryan told her that what she dreamed of could become reality, and sealed that hope with a kiss.

Brot and Taylor ran into Angie at the hospital and found out that Frankie and Randi's honeymoon had been cancelled. When Angie pointed out that the newlyweds would have to wait until Frankie returned from his tour of duty before they could try to go away again, Brot got an idea. He asked Angie to keep the couple busy at her place, and whisked Taylor off to help him with his plan.

Tad arrived at the courthouse and was able to talk a bit about the upcoming custody hearing with Jesse. Tad said that he hoped the judge would allow Little Adam to stay with his father. Jesse told him not to worry, as the little boy was in good hands.

Natalia read a story to Little Adam until he turned away from her and admitted that he missed his mom. Natalia told him that she missed hers, too, and was able to make him feel better as she related to his feelings of loss.

JR thanked Erica for all she had done to make sure that he had a fair custody hearing. Colby wondered about Erica's motivation, given that she hadn't really liked JR over the years. She thought that perhaps Erica was in love with Adam again, but Erica declined to go that far. She left the two Chandler kids to wonder just what she felt about their father, and when she left, Colby told her brother that she wanted Erica to stick around.

Brot and Taylor showed up at Frankie and Randi's place with decorations, and reminisced about romantic days they shared while in Iraq. Brot then described a truly romantic scene on a deserted beach and said that they would share that moment on their honeymoon. Taylor asked if he had just proposed to her. Brot said that he wanted to be the best man he could be before he proposed to her again - one that came to her without doubts. She told him that she was doubt-free, but he pointed out that he still had more work to do. They then started to finalize the decorations in preparation for the newlyweds' arrival to their island paradise.

Angie went home and, while Natalia played with Little A, Frankie and Randi celebrated their wedding with a little face time in the kitchen. Natalia asked if the young couple had plans for children, and Angie said that although she loved children, she was not ready to be called Grandma. A short time later, before she headed out the door, Angie told Natalia to give Frankie and Randi some alone time. Once Angie was gone, Natalia took her young charge into his room to play. Randi asked about having kids, and when she admitted that she wanted a few, Frankie jokingly told her he wanted a basketball team.

All of the parties showed up for the custody hearing and, predictably, David tried to shake JR's composure with low blows. JR was unmoved and, before they all moved into the courtroom, said he had nothing to hide. JR had the opportunity to speak first, but when he talked about the wisdom and compassion that he wanted to pass on to his son from Babe, David was unable to resist. David stood up and lambasted JR for several of his misdeeds.

The judge demanded that David take his seat and said she wouldn't tolerate any further outbursts. When JR concluded, the judge asked Krystal, as Babe's mother, to offer some words. Krystal stood, and agreed with everything that JR had said.

Although David was momentarily panicked, Krystal redeemed herself in his eyes when she said that despite the love JR had shared with Babe, she didn't believe that life in the Chandler house was the best environment for her grandson. After she sat, the judge grudgingly allowed David some additional words.

David wove a heartfelt tale, which drove JR to call his bluff. JR recalled the Thanksgiving when Babe had denounced her father's worth and told David that she wished he would disappear. JR went so far as to call David a coward that only held his daughter after she died. That pushed David over the edge and he physically attacked JR.

After order was returned to the court, the judge was ready to make her ruling, barring other witnesses. Tad asked to speak and, although David's lawyer tried to prevent it, the judge stated that she would hear all sides. Tad pointed out that David's words about the provision of a stable and loving home were ludicrous, given that he had taken Krystal to bed while she was still married, and then got her addicted to medication, all in the wake of Babe's death. He said that although he believed that David felt something for Little A, revenge and payback pushed David to go for what he wanted.

David again spoke out of turn and tried to address all of Tad's issues. At the end, he pleaded with the judge to allow him and Krystal the privilege of raising their grandson in the way that Babe would have wanted.

The judge stated that, although she had no doubt about the love felt for Little Adam from both sides of the case, she couldn't recommend that temporary custody be placed with either party. She noted the little boy's foster location was a good home, and ruled that Little Adam stay there until permanent custody could be determined.

Zach continued to ask Myrtle's picture why he'd single-handedly blown up his perfect life. The questions were met with silence until a knock at the door interrupted the one-sided dialogue. Zach demanded that the visitor leave but, resistant, Erica opened the door and refused to do as he asked. She told him to do something to save his marriage, but, lost in his own misery, he told her that his relationship with Kendall was over. He then said that he got what he deserved and he no longer had a reason to get up in the morning.

Reese burst on to the scene at that moment and insisted that his children were all the reason he needed. Even though they had both hurt the women they loved, Reese told him that Kendall knew he was a great father and that, if nothing else, he needed to fight for his kids.

Erica managed to impart some nice words to Reese after they'd finished their talk with Zach. Reese said that she only told Zach what he already knew, and that she wouldn't let what she and Zach had done stop her from fighting for her family. Erica told her that it wouldn't be an easy fight, but Reese said that although she might not be able to win Bianca back, she was determined to prove that she was worthy to be a mother to Miranda and Gabrielle.

Frankie and Randi arrived home and were pleasantly surprised at all of the work Taylor and Brot had put into decorating their place. The former soldiers made Frankie carry his new bride over the threshold and then quietly excused themselves as the spirit of the islands wrapped itself around the lovebirds.

As Taylor dropped Brot off at the hospital, she confessed that she'd found her engagement ring in his pocket when she did the laundry. She admitted that she was confused as to why they hadn't gotten engaged again, and asked if his feelings had changed. Brot was quick to disagree and instead said that in all fairness, he needed to figure out the reason why his life had been spared before he asked her to be his wife.

Ryan and Kendall went to the casino and Ryan proceeded to tell the staff that, although they would continue to operate as they had been, eventually the employees would need to step up in their responsibilities. Zach walked in and Kendall asked why he had shown up. Zach asked Ryan to play a game of Texas Hold 'Em, with the prize being the thing that Zach loved the most in the world.
